Ángel Cruz Calvo, the grandfather of Ángel Cruz Robles, crafted this tobalá from his own crop of cultivated Agave seemanniana, not the Agave potatorum from which tobalá is most often made. The two agaves are quite similar in appearance, but the taste is noticeably different and is what mezcal aficionados appreciate about this family of spirits—no two lots are ever alike. This mezcal is meant to be sipped neat and enjoyed with friends over a rustic meal. ¡Disfruta!
